See the DOT Vision Zero Data here showing worthy reductions in such fatalities, but clearly showing that cars remain the greatest threat. www.nyc.gov/html/dot/htm....

I believe in Vision Zero so any death involving bicycles and MOre ImpoRTanTLY cars is one too many. And, when compared to deaths involving motor vehicles, one can only wonder why we don't have speed controls on ALL CARS in and out of our city. @nyc.streetsblog.org @streetspac.org

The referenced article goes on to say: "the rate of cyclist fatalities and serious injuries as a share of all bike trips has been trending downward for many years, suggesting that riding a bicycle in New York City has become safer over the long term." A pretty important bit of context for readers.
