They are used to make food prettier to increase consumption, they are banned in many other countries, and the scientific consensus on them is that they are likely not a problem. This is a trade off, and "following the science" is being used as a cudgel. You sound like a corporate shill.

It seems a lot of people are all about instant gratification in their hobbies and really don't get why someone would want to check out older entries in their favorite genre given they are clunkier, behind the time, whatever the reasoning is. Happens in every space I am in these days
