When I was a student, we had what was on the game sheet as the Rowdy Run, where we'd play "Gonna Fly Now," a guy would run out of the student section, and up to the top of the stairs in the opposite end of the arena, spell out "Richmond" with his body and run back in the space of a media timeout.

I knew a wing engine detaching on takeoff and causing a crash looked familiar (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America...), and lo and behold, that was a DC-10, the MD 11's predecessor. Piece of shit planes.
