That's pretty accurate. I want to learn a lot more about sailing it's magical. I'm lucky I live in the Canary islands I just haven't had the time to dedicate to doing more than a competent crew qualification.

This post reminds me of learning about what an astrolabe is and being absolutely blown away by the fact that people were so much better connected to their environments in the ancient world.

I have never been down the south to see the monk parakeets although we had a single monk parakeet that used to visit our garden. The red vented bulbuls have never been in my garden but I'm certain I have seen them whilst I've been walking in the north of the island.

I think this is a major component of hyper vigilance.
