The merits of the (abhorrent) policy aside, "If you don't like this you won't like what follows me" is just an insane way for a government to be talking with three years and nine months left until an election.

Well, if we are being 'objective' it is objective fact that the British electorate hate Keir Starmer, whether me, you, or anyone considers it fair or not irrelevant.

Yeah - my theory is that a) there is this feeling that his failure is the death of all hope: people really hoped the Tory defeat would bring about an end to misery and grimness and it hasn’t b) he reminds them of their manager c) the visible lack of a plan or a vision.

Yes. I also think the fact that he so visibly doesn't enjoy doing the job of Prime Minister hasn't helped his image either.

It isn't at all. Starmer is genuinely reviled, and anyone who claims that he isn't is, respectfully, somewhat detached from reality.

Starmer is disliked by ~75% of the electorate. Newsflash: that includes quite a lot of Labour voters- and, crucially, those who may have voted for other parties or stayed at home but were comfortable with Labour winning.

The Starmer re-elect is dead. The souffle does not rise twice, the prime minister does not come back from that kind of approval rating, or indeed the level of hatred he inspires in the country now.

Astonishing that it has been less than 6 years since the 2019 election.

"Hey, we are literally the same as Reform but we have all the baggage of the last fourteen years and we're not willing/able to defend our record" doesn't strike me as an approach that's likely to stymie Farage.

Also the begs the question of "what is the point of the Conservative Party?" if all they're willing to offer is the exact same platform as Reform along with the baggage of 14 years in government.

They both have severe problems but I can reconcile myself to sharing a platform with a bunch of arseholes on Bluesky. I cannot reconcile myself to participating on a social media site owned by a literal fascist who is speaking at UK rallies calling for the mass deportation of my friends.

I don't really see how this can be interpreted as anything other than the Netanyahu government deliberately trying to destabilise the United Kingdom.

Absolute beast mode. "I might be completely wrong but my point still stands". I will miss her.
