Beautiful! But those may be cherries? 🇯🇵 plums and cherries are so similar that iOS Photos mislabels mine.

I have white and pink cherries next to each other. Unlike plums, cherries have notched petals and many flowers bunched together.🌸

French sorrel in our garden is going to seed already! Normally happens in late summer or early fall.

First harbingers of spring in NC are Bradford pears.

Lovely to look at, but I call them stinky fish trees.🐟💩

I love binder clips, use them to secure everything in the kitchen: chip bags, loops of cables, papers of course.
But I don't like them rattling around in a drawer getting all snagged. So I organize them into a bracelet; this makes me happy.

@annikabarber.bsky.social EITA "did not take place as scheduled"
public.csr.nih.gov/StudySection...

On the search page it still lists the meeting date from last week.

Thank you for doing the amazing work of tracking!

Welcome @geoffrubin.bsky.social to 🦋 (left), and that's Ravi Tandon and Nirav Merchant between us.

I'm visiting @uarizona.bsky.social #MedicalImaging collaborators, also ran into Nan-kuei Chen.

Making new friends. This is a fishhook barrel cactus.🌵 It grows toward the sun.

Visiting @uarizona.bsky.social collaborators today. Yet another ridiculously sunny location before I head back to the ice and snow tomorrow.

Each year Vanderbilt has the best #SPIEMedicalImaging group picture. The final shot is shown below, but it was even more impressive when they were still getting organized. It's a little chaotic in the background because it's a coffee break.

From a year ago today, what a different mood!

Here's the flight path. Map is about 6 miles wide.

Bye #SPIEMedicalImaging and San Diego!

Amazing scenic takeoff, we climbed out over the ocean, quickly followed by several left banks back over land that showcased Point Loma, Coronado, downtown, and Chula Vista.🛫

"CT" the hotel 🐈‍⬛, mascot of #SPIEMedicalImaging, begins the morning in the cabana, going from a tongue bath to a sun bath.

Leaving today, gonna miss my @spie.org #ESA 🥺

Been coming to #SPIEMedicalImaging conference in San Diego for 30+ years. I'm ready for the move to Vancouver next year, but definitely will miss this place.
Thanks @spie.org for sending us off with the most fantastic weather in many years.🌞🌴

One of the #SPIEMedicalImaging social media logos was recently revised. 🙂‍↔️🦋

With 🧪 under attack, it's gratifying to see @spie.org move over. Government scientists from FDA and NIH have contributed strongly for decades. Many were blocked from attending this year, or worse got fired.🫡

Keynote speaker Tim Salcudean of UBC gives #SPIEMedicalImaging conference a sneak peek at stunning views awaiting us as we move to Vancouver next year! @spie.org 🧪🩻

"Humans can be surprisingly good robots... for ultrasound."

Tim Salcudean of UBC gives #SPIEMedicalImaging keynote. Human teleoperation allows expert to guide remote novice to position ultrasound probe, benefiting underserved rural sites far from major hospitals.🧪

Working to befriend my hotel stray 🐈‍⬛ "CT" - found it sleeping in the cabana this morning. When I tapped on the glass, it hopped down and went to drink from the cup I left out yesterday.
Still very skittish, ran away when I opened the mesh curtain to get a better pic.

Good size crowd for new 3-minute posters event at #SPIEMedicalImaging🧪🩻

If you were there, did you like this? Was it net positive experience?

I promised @cynthiarudin.bsky.social that I would say hello to her parents.🙂‍↔️

Ran into them at the nice reception after the opening plenary session. Stephen Rudin is a Fellow of @spie.org and longtime supporter of #SPIEMedicalImaging.

#SPIEMedicalImaging run in with a 🩻🧪 celebrity!

Nice chatting with Kunio Doi and his wife. The father of computer aided diagnosis, he paved the way for modern AI in medical imaging. Like many greats in our field, Kunio continues to be part of the community long after retirement.

Sure! CT spent most of the day at the neighbor's cabana, but as the sun shifted it came back to mine this afternoon.
February 17, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Thanks @spie.org for the room upgrade, benefit of being #SPIEMedicalImaging Symposium Chair.

This year the cabana comes with a nice perk: my own cat!🐈‍⬛
