Second we saw Joseph Bowen ask why consenting sometimes makes permissible things we otherwise have a duty to avoid, but not in other cases; a talk that had us jumping from trollies to situations where 1000 people are out to get us.

Our first speaker was Lucy Shanahan, who wanted to know whether we can consent to intimate acts when we are sleeping, as part of a larger project exploring consensual non-consent and other dynamics.
