They definitely made some odd choices. My big problem is it doesn’t feel like the town of Derry. Like the Marsten House, locations in King stories should feel like characters.

I get that, they essentially murdered an industry. I think by then I had drank the Netflix Kool-Aid, I was an early adopter. Their DVD selection was just hard to compete with. I didn’t realize how good I had it. $14 a month but literally every movie you could think of; I miss those days, lol.

Yeah if I went to a corporate chain, it was ALWAYS Hollywood Video; they had a cult movie section! Otherwise, I stuck with the local spots, Potomac Video and Video World.

It felt like there was a waiting list! The worst was when they hired someone who didn’t even like movies. I only applied to local video stores though, I had no interest in working at Blockbuster.

Amazing novel! I love the blend of societal horror with supernatural horror. I read it two years ago and I still think about this one. There’s so much to unpack.
