What I don't understand is when Saka isn't having his best game - with an extremely important game against Villa next - is why he didn't bring Madueke on. What's the point of him otherwise?

Fair enough if you think it can't win. Just think maybe you do have to have solid defensive foundations to win these days. Can't all be attack.

Isn't the point about Rice that he's more than just a 6? Wouldn't that role be a bit limiting? Even supposing Eze could be in the MF (I think he was supposed to be a winger)

What's rare is that they are actually given the time to turn it around. I think what is now understood about MA is that the situation he inherited was so bad that it took a long time to fix. At least some of that applies here too. Ultimately do you want a root and branch thing or just a few tweaks?
