Here is a 'funny' thing about trying to advance teaching for understanding in (HS) math...

Resistance sounds like: "That's not rigorous!"

So we clarify what it looks like to teach for understanding with a specific topic, then...

Resistance sounds like: "Our kids can't do that!"
