Personally i would go up north rather than down south, mostly beacuse im not a huge fan of warm weather (cant handle it very well)

Didn't know it was your first.

Depending on what seems most attractive to you, I think Scotland might be a good option (or the UK in general) since there seems to be a fair amount of established routes there already and from what I've seen through social media, the nature is stunning.
