At least when uploading pictures i remember reading that BlueSky has a resolution limit of 2000*2000 and <1MB in size, so watching all the pictures on this thread my guess would be that the gifs being uploaded go over a limit and during the conversion they become jpegs... Maybe. 🤷‍♂️
