The network then moved these two Sri Lankan nationals through Istanbul, Panama City, Panama, Georgetown, Bahamas and into Mexico from where they crossed into the U.S. illegally. They were released by U.S. immigration authorities before being smuggled into Canada.

I couldn't detail this in the latest story (cbc.ca/news/canada/... ) but, this Montreal-based human smuggling network moved people internationally using visas and residency permits from countries like India and the UAE through the use of suspected front companies.

RCMP surveillance units picked up the grey Dodge Caravan carrying the family after it took a westbound Highway 401 exit and stopped at an Esso gas station in South Lancaster, Ont. Police watched the family members "briefly enter the store."
