Having one such stretch of 20+ days is unusual, but TWO in a single year has only occurred 5 times in Rockford's history. 1925, 1942, 1932, 1953, and now 2024. While we have a way to go before we reach the longest dry stretch ever, rainfall looks very limited over the next week.

Those two dates recording measurable rainfall are the only two since late August, meaning we had two dry stretches recording no measurable rainfall between August 31st to September 21st (22 days) and then again from September 25th to October 17th (23 days and counting).
