The platonic ideal of liberal rhetoric: a) we can't win due to issues outside of our control, meaning b) there's no point changing our platform or leadership to appeal to more voters, which is c) frankly the voters' fault, and d) fuck them for being too ignorant to understand our superiority anyway.

This is so great. The perfect encapsulation of the typical Dem loyalist: expects nothing of their party leadership, instantly mad at anybody who does and calls it magical thinking, hasn't updated their understanding of the world in decades.

I'm reading a list of common misconceptions on Wikipedia and ran across this one I hadn't heard before. Jfc, people. Makes me think about how much human stupidity is the deliberate result of charlatans and grifters trying to make a quick buck. The phrasing did get a chuckle out of me, though.

My undergrad degree is in IT so unsurprising that it was largely structured for corporate environments, but I'm now working on my masters in education and half the learning materials are still this crap. Like surely most students in this field aren't corporate ladder climbers, right?
