A tory shaped hole is no excuse for Labour's swing to the right that has further legitimised talking points like this. It's no excuse for their weakness when standing up to the rhetoric.

It's also worth noting that Labour themselves are looking to reform ILR to something that isn't too disimilar.

A lot of Google (and Meta, amazon etc) make money from their ad and data services. Tightening your privacy settings, enabling ad blockers and regularly purging cookies will hit them hard.

Also using their websites in a browser instead of their apps limits data collection.

I use Ecosia instead of Google for search, they do partner with Microsoft but financially it's way less money to US.

Most browsers are from US companies, so tough one there, but Firefox is great and non profit.
