I contacted @repnikema.bsky.social ‘s offices on Friday evening urging action to stop Elon Musk. Today I got a response to my request. Thank you Rep. Williams for your hard work and quick reply.

It is a privilege to serve as your representative in Congress. Hearing your thoughts and views helps me to best represent my constituents in Washington, D.C. and I deeply value your input. When people show you who they are, believe them. Unfortunately, during my time in Congress, we have had to act repeatedly on President Trump, several Members of Congress, and the entire MAGA movement's demonstrated desire to inflict harm upon the American people and violate the oaths they have taken to defend our constitution and to fight for all of their constituents. I am deeply concerned about the power and influence Elon Musk and his followers are illegally exerting across the government, including gaining access by force to the Department of Treasury's payroll system and private data and violating the law to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), an independent government agency that does vital work providing humanitarian and development assistance. What Elon Musk and President Trump are doing to undermine our Constitutional system of checks and balances and the rule of law is unprecedented, illegal, and unacceptable. That House and Senate Republican majorities are willing to cede Congress's constitutionally assigned powers and refuse to enforce our own laws is an embarrassment to and a dereliction of the offices they hold. I have joined my Financial Services Committee colleagues in sending a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent expressing our alarm at Musk and his allies' access to the Department of the Treasury's payment systems and American's personal data. The damage the Trump Administration is doing to the federal government is deeper than just Elon Musk and his so called”Department of Government Efficiency." Similar to his last term, the Trump administration is cultivating a federal government that is beholden to corporations and special interests, that openly ignores federal laws, and that prioritizes loyalty to Donald Trump over benefits to the American people. Within hours of President Trump taking the oath of office, the White House issued a plethora of executive actions that would politicize the federal workforce, undermine judicial and constitutional norms that ensure everyone is treated fairly, and erase decades of progress and protections for civil rights, public safety, health care, and the environment that we all count on to keep us safe. The extreme MAGA Republicans in this Administration and in Congress continue to find ways to be cruel to marginalized people, from firing National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) leadership so that big companies can exploit workers, to firing inspectors general so that Republican appointees will not be held accountable, to freezing the Department of Justice's Office of Civil Rights to empower racism and prejudice, to freezing National Institutes of Health research that saves people's lives, to stopping USAID spending that keeps the United States' role as the leader of the free world afloat.To push back on the Trump/Musk abuses, I am supporting the Saving the Civil Service Act to counter President Trump's politicization of our federal workforce, I joined with my Labor Caucus colleagues to send a letter highlighting the illegal firing of NLRB Commissioner Gwynne Wilcox, and I sent letters to President Trump urging him to rescind his tariffs on Canadian goods, opposing his disastrous gutting of USAID, and condemning his gutting of international HIV funding.The American people need their government to work, and to work for them. Blue Anon and Resistance Twitter need to face reality. All polls before the election had this within a couple percentage points. To date, the difference between a Harris and Trump win was a few percentage points.
