Here’s an example: Notice how the tax payable drops to zero - simply by donating the investment directly.

A great tax efficient strategy

And non-financial - Conversations Over Coffee by Janna Dutton. Everyone’s story is unique, and I appreciate how Janna provides the platform to tell these stories.

Lots more on the list for 2025 - looking forward to it!

Driven by Purpose by Ryan Fraser - love the incorporation of generosity, values, and finances that he ties together so well. Very interesting to read his thoughts in a practical sense.

The Soul of Wealth by Daniel Crosby - I particularly enjoyed his connection of money and meaning, and his insights highlighting that maximizing your financial pile is not the ultimate goal

It was like a lightbulb moment where all of a sudden that was cool. The kids were
engaged, and excited to get their savings journey going as well.

Unfortunate for sure

This assumes your kids have FHSA contribution room available, but simply using the account can add a significant amount of after tax value to your kids.

Don’t pass up this opportunity!

Yes, that stock might be a real winner - but give this article from Ruben Miller a reread.

Can you get that stock pick right? Yep.

Does the data suggest you will more likely get it wrong? Yep.

Manage that TFSA wisely!

Market averages tell the big story: if you buy the entire stock market, and sit on it, over long periods that investment portfolio has averaged about 8-10% per year. I have no reason to believe it…

5) The future - I don’t know what 2025 holds. It might be good and it might hold some
challenging things. I’m grateful to have people in my life to be apart of this no
matter the results. I’m excited for the opportunity to learn and grow as a friend,
husband, father, and advisor.

4) Our country - I’m grateful to live in Canada. I believe we won the birth lottery being
born where we are. Living in Canada has provided so much opportunity that may
not exist elsewhere. I’m thankful for our safety, peace, and freedom.

3) Friends - I’m thankful to have friends who are supportive and strive to do their best
each day. Those that spur one another and to grow together with.

2) Work - Grateful to have job that allows me to get up each day with
purpose and fulfilment, allowing me to support my family. Thankful for the
trust of clients and industry partners who have chosen to align with me. I don’t take this lightly and I’m excited to dive in each day to better my work

Share a few things I’m grateful for this holiday season

1) Family - this becomes more and more important each year. I’m
thankful for the big moments, but also the little ones. Regular evening suppers,
bedtime stories, good morning hugs. I’m grateful for joy that comes each
day with little ones

Much much more - but at a high level, most questions fall under these two categories.

Are my loved ones going to be ok - do I have sufficient insurance coverage in the
event of sickness or death, will my kids get our money in the most time and tax efficient
manner should we pass away, can my wife continue living the way we want should
something happen to me.
