It's human nature to believe things happen for a reason--that there's always a purpose behind what's happening. In this case, it's just the collective result of greedy cruel idiots, no secret puppet master, just an orange idiot with too much power, and a bunch of enablers.
In the same way it’s a worthwhile exercise for those who believe Trump is a malevolent idiot to try to force themselves to understand a possible method to his madness, it would probably be good for people that think he has some master plan to wrestle with the idea that he’s just a malevolent idiot.

The US collapsing completely as a nation, as it's fully in the grip of modern day great depression with Trump continuing to ignore the rising poverty/unemployment rates as well as more tax cuts for billionaires. Another scenario is a nuclear warfare with human civilization being destroyed.

I spoke with my grandma today about what's been happening on the news, and was nervous about what's become of this country. She said she was frightened/angered at the thought of the US regressing back into the world she grew up in (Jim crow, the depression, and world wars).

This country really is turning back time. It's only a matter of time before these try to justify reinstating Jim Crow laws to prevent "white discrimination".
I’m struck by the Trump administration’s attempt to redefine equality as discrimination against white people. This is a deeply racist idea that *equal outcomes* must be unfair, assuming white people are naturally at the top of the hierarchy.
