Carville pins Democrat hopes on pivoting to economic rage. He cites rising costs for food, utilities, and childcare but ignores healthcare premiums. Was omission of healthcare intentional?

Mr French offers a thoughtful examination of the President’s authority to pardon. Well worth reading. In Canada, the power to grant clemency, including pardons, is not primarily held by the Prime Minister in the same way the U.S. President holds the pardon power. Worth considering.

What if the Monarchy Went Out With a Bang? Can we not get some respite from Ross Douthat. It’s depressing enough when he trains his sights on American culture but deeply unsettling when he develves into topics he has nothing original to offer.

Yet another NYT editorial reporting that polls show a majority of American disapprove of a Trump policy. Got to ask yourself where are these citizens who polls reveal want gun reform, legal abortions and healthcare reform when it’s time to vote.

Trump is a toddler. So treat him as one. Evidently he was frustrated that Carney has persisted in pursuing Canada’s interests so he has taken his marbles and ended the game. Time to explore whether China’s marbles are in play. In a choice between Dictators Xi may be best available alternative.
Carney: "We can't control the trade policy of the US. We recognize it has fundamentally changed from the policy in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, & it's a situation where US has tariffs against every trading partner... what we we can control is developing new partnerships, including w/econ giants of Asia"

Trump asserting “Canada cheated” and taking a hissy fit is yet more evidence that trade negotiations are going nowhere. Time for Carney to embrace China.
Here’s the original clip of Ronald Reagan from April 25, 1987, where he delivered a complete and total rebuke against tariffs. Trump's calling Reagan’s words here “FAKE” and “fraudulent.” They’re 100% real. And the original clip is actually far worse for Trump, as much is left out of the ad:

Alarming statement. We want to believe Robinson was a twisted incel motivated by hate. His friend described Robinson as fairly typical of a young man his age from Utah. WTF

NYT reports on White House response to Courts decision on tariffs. Apparently only the Supreme Court can save the American economy from disaster. No mention of any potential action by Congress to provide constitutional cover and legitimize the tariffs (tax increase). SAD

Holy shit -- Kevin Hassett completely bombs on ABC when pressed by Jon Karl to explain how Trump can possibly justify 50% tariffs on Brazil even though the country has a trade *deficit* with the US

A lot of Canadians are questioning whether a trade agreement is achievable or worthwhile. It’s increasingly apparent that Trump is incapable of negotiating in good faith.

Contrast the Canadian election with US. Elections Canada operates the voting and counts paper ballots across the nation announcing results a few hours after polls close, limits party spending, restricts special interests spending (no PACs) and campaigns last only 38 days. Quelle différence!

What will we hear from Trump tomorrow morning. Will he congratulate Carney? Unlikely since Canada is choosing a new path forward. Call it “Cordial but not cozy “.
Today is election day in Canada and Trump seems to be suggesting that they vote to make him their leader and become the 51st state of the United States.

Little Marco spins a new porky and its a good one. Apparently Trudeau gave Trump the idea that Canada would be better off as the 51st state. What’s next - Zelensky supports Putin’s annexation of Ukraine!

Stephen Miller claims on Fox News that returning the Maryland father who was wrongly deported to El Salvador would constitute a "kidnapping" and "invasion of El Salvador's sovereignty."

"He was not mistakenly sent to El Salvador," Miller lies. "This was the right person sent to the right place."
