The Smith family owns 600 acres of land, which has been passed down since the 1920s. A superior court judge recently ruled that a railroad company could seize their property.

Enjoyed traveling to Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge (Decatur, AL) with @birdsgeorgia.bsky.social last weekend. We saw 80 bird species — three of which were lifers for me (whooping cranes, greater white-fronted geese, and horned larks) — including thousands of sandhill cranes!
