Hydrocarbon Hazes on Temperate sub-Neptune K2-18b supported by data from the James Webb Space Telescope
K2-18b, a sub-Neptune orbiting in the habitable zone of an M dwarf, has attracted significant interest following observations with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and, more recently, with the James W...

Totally get behind this! GitHub pages was super intuitive to set up, and my very minimal html knowledge was more than up to the task with how many templates are out there! joolsclarke.co.uk if you want to check it out for inspo :)

Super exciting to get to meet so many great people at Exoplanets by the Lake III, and to get an opportunity to present a slice of my upcoming machine learning research. I had some great discussions, but if you missed me, please reach out! #exoplanetsbythelake #exoplanets

This, but also at the same time we need to let habitability not be the only motivator for exoplanet studies and move into population level studies. There is so much to be learned from the Jovian short period planets too #exoplanets
We have a grand total of 0 actual Earthlike planets confirmed in the habitable zone of a sunlike star, determining eta Earth requires extrapolation. We need to start filling in the longer period gap, even if we don't get out to the habitable zone. TESS and PLATO long period searches will help #HWO25

Super interesting investigation from Jack Davey on the effect of observation errors in retrievals. Good to know I don't have to panic _yet_, but definitely something to keep an eye on! #exoplanet 🔭

Investigating the Influence of Asymmetric Errors on Retrievals of Exoplanet Transmission Spectra
In studies of exoplanet atmospheres using transmission spectroscopy, Bayesian retrievals are the most popular form of analysis. In these procedures it is common to adopt a Gaussian likelihood. However...

Exciting to see these results from Jack ! Also good to know I don't need to redo my analyses _again_ 🎉
Davey: using the real WASP-39b data we don't see any major differences or biased (good news!). So no need to re-analyse existing JWST spectra (unless there is majorly asymmetric error bars).
