Parasite life cycles -- especially the trophically-transmitted multi-host ones where always one of the hosts is a snail!

Parasitoid wasp speciation/diversity. It's a very complex group, taxonomically, to the degree that (I'm told) it's hard to find people who want to work on it.

I was also recently talking to folks who work on cephalopod venom, also not particularly well understood, apparently.

The livable, lively world I imagine contains two things in far greater abundance than ours: 1) play in public spaces, 2) bicycle travel. Both promote physical and mental health. Play, in particular, bonds people to each other and to a shared reality.
