It’s been an extremely difficult 2025 so far, with the passing of Marley then losing my job of 13 years due to “corporate restricting” (meaning an entry level employee monitoring the new AI program they’re using), but I’m mostly staying positive. New job at a car dealership, softball, video games…

We had a couple visitors early this morning. These deer were practically on my front step!

Some amazingly tasty food today from Café Caya Mangé in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. These folks are from St Lucia and make delicious #vegan #plantbased food with a Caribbean flare. We tried the walnut meat wrap, zesty island chick’n burger, and a couple of desserts. Unbelievable quality and good value.

Continuing to work on my swing mechanics, hitting lots of balls off the tee. Definitely feeling the results, making solid contact and able to place the ball well. Picked up a like new Easton FireFlex 240 bat (27oz end-loaded), some quality batting gloves, and a silicon knob grip. #softball

When you’re taking some batting practice off the tee and absolutely crush the first ball, but then almost whiff on the next one and hit yourself in the head on the backswing. I love this game 😂 🥎 #softball #battingpractice #springtraining

Day 15,229. Surprises around every corner, though it has become easier to accept the need to navigate them. This human experience baffles me but there is some good here. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

I ate almost nothing but Indian food for a week recently and it is by far my favorite cuisine. This amazing chana masala was from The Indian House restaurant in Bridgetown, NS. If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood it is well worth the visit.

Today marks one month since Marley passed. It simultaneously feels like yesterday and a million years ago. Still intensely missing my friend of 2 decades.

Back to bowling last night. 96, 115, 101 for a 312 triple. There are 3 of us very close together in the 3-5 spot on the average leaderboard. This moves me up very slightly to a 103.53 🎳

An update on the Legend of Dragoon progress. A few hours in now, and starting to open up with the story and game mechanics. #RetroJRPG #PlayStation #VideoGames

Well until the snow over the past 24 hours, it was beginning to look kinda springy out there and I’ve been dreaming of hitting the ball field soon in preparation for this year’s softball season. We’ve got most guys returning from last year so a solid core.

One of my favorite dishes is this homemade samosa bowl with potato, peas, carrots, roasted chickpeas, and a tamarind chutney.

A nice hearty homemade #plantbased goulash for dinner today, with a slice of buttered bread and a blackberry ginger ale.

I’m not one to simp for corporations, and that’s not what this is, but I do appreciate when a company is willing to work with a client to retain their business. In short, I considered cancelling my Eastlink TV service because $, but they quickly offered me a discounted rate for 12 months.

I’ve watched a couple MLB #SpringTraining baseball games this week and now I’m already dreaming of playing softball this spring. Soon ordering a tee for swing mechanics, and will hit the field as soon as it’s ready for practice. #3rdBaseman #Softball #HotCorner

It’s been a week, and Marley’s absence is so incredibly overwhelming. The grief continues, but it is matched by my gratitude to have known her for almost 20 years. 💜

I’ve recently started replaying “The Legend of Dragoon” for the first time in approx 25 years. Originally released on PS1. This is one of those games that, while flawed, has a story which leaves a lasting impression. Very excited to dive deeper into this one.
