I just saw a lecture by Egyptologist, Dr. #ZahiHawass, whose repatriation efforts for #Egyptian artifacts are commendable. Check out his petition for the bust of Queen #Nefertiti. chng.it/QBHPRYFz9T

A great quote for every math proof nerd by @petebuttigieg.bsky.social on the due process: “Our most important rights and freedoms are safe if and only if they apply across the board.” I think the only thing missing from that quote is a suffix of “QED”. 🤪 www.youtube.com/live/qBaXo_J...

A gem quote from @petebuttigieg.bsky.social at his town hall: “I’m convinced that (…) the only reason politics is worth being involved in is because of how every decision that happens in a big white building in Washington DC finds its way into our everyday lives.” www.youtube.com/live/qBaXo_J...

Just finished reading the #Shakepeare play Henry VI Part 1. There was a really neat scene about how the Wars of the Roses actually began, with a disagreement in a rose garden where some picked red roses and others picked white roses. Kinda cool. www.goodreads.com/book/show/23...

Fun fact as I read the Norton Shakespeare: The reason we have the term “role” as in “your role in the play/organization” is because theatre actors in Shakespeare’s time received strips of paper glued to each other as a “roll” of paper. www.goodreads.com/book/show/23...

A great quote from "Writing Effective Use Cases" p. 227: For reasons that remain a mystery to me, many people have focused on the stick figure and ellipses in use case writing ... and have neglected to notice that use cases are fundamentally a text form." #usecases

Some advice by George W. Bush in his lesson on Crisis Management in his #Masterclass. A leader needs to do three things during a crisis:
1. Be calm.
2. Actually say something to project calm to others.
3. Demonstrate compassion.
Common sense but true.

Reading a great book called Writing Effective Use Cases by Alastair Cockburn. One of the things I’m learning is the importance of reaching out to SMEs early. There’s no point fleshing out everything early on when you may have to rewrite everything later. #use-cases
