Ross previously lived near Fort Bliss, a U.S. Army base in New Mexico and on the outskirts of El Paso, Texas. A photo on Facebook from a man identified in records as Ross’s father, reviewed by The Intercept, shows a man carrying an assault weapon captioned “Jon Ross in Iraq.”

Property records and voter registration, reviewed by the Guardian, confirms a 46-year-old man named Jonathan David Ross lives in north-east Minneapolis, Minnesota. An FBI agent’s affidavit contains a picture of Ross from the back, with same haircut as in videos of Good’s murder.
