I'm a business magazine editor, but I mainly lurk on social media to keep up with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Former sportswriter, current amateur landscape gardener.
I'm here for the rebuild. I'm doubling down. I'm buying low. I can't wait until five or six of our best players are traded.

We need prospects, and lots of them!!!

Prieto seems like a nice throw-in piece for another team. He's had a good season, he has value, too bad the Cardinals have 400 second basemen/utility guys.

I got high just looking at that photo.

Vic Scott is the real deal. He's chased down at least four long distance drives in the gap the past couple of weeks. His winter work with Jon Jay has really paid off. He's getting much better jumps and taking better routes. He's playing smart, not just relying on his speed.

Exactly. Siani needs to move on to another organization. "Great glove, can't hit" doesn't matter when the team has no fewer than six replacement options for the reserve outfielder spot.

I watched the whole game Sunday. Later that evening, my wife asked, "Did the Cardinals win?" I said, "I have no idea."

Good to see Padilla in Florida and Honeyman actually using a glove again. ;)

Jealous of that tan, Brian. :)

It has to be Victor Scott. Michael Siani can't hit.

Good to see more info on Nathan Church. Most descriptions usually focus on him as a "light hitting outfielder."

For my generation of Cardinals fans, it was Willie McGee. I'll always love that guy.

I watched many of the interviews on YouTube, but your written summaries were so much better. I'm skipping the rest of the videos. Thanks, Brian.

I agree. Pages may be the best backup they've had in years, but he should still only start on getaway days, day games after night games, double-headers, etc.

I'd like to see the Cardinals pick up a couple of those international players the Dodgers intended to sign but can no longer afford.

I stopped following the NFL when the Rams left. I tried to latch on to the Steelers for a couple of years, but my heart wasn't in it. More time for other things.
