🏄 Watching GIDGET (1959) dir. Paul Wendkos. It's been at least 30 years since I last saw this, I forgot how saucy it is! It also has a deeper message - albeit a somewhat misguided one - than what's on the surface. Sandra Dee is perfection, and Cliff Robertson... 🍑 🔥

(THE LITTLE MERMAID, 1975, Japan) Well that was...surreal. Much truer to the dark tone of Andersen's tragic tale, without a tacked-on happy ending. Tears were shed. Nice to hear the late Kirsten Bishop, a favorite, on the English dub.

Absolutely haunting! Yes, I cried. :) The sound for the trailer doesnt survive, but you can still see what a visual feast this is. The Blu-Ray has the Movietone soundtrack with music and sound effects as seen/heard in 1927 on the feature.

1941, dir. Archie Mayo. Unincumbered by pesky things like historical accuracy, this is good, frothy, bouncy fun in the 20th Century-Fox signature style. Great tunes. Alice Faye is, of course, divine. The Wiere Brothers! The Nicholas Brothers! KOMO in Seattle gets a little nod.

Tried La Croix's "Beach Plum." Yummy, but didn't taste like plum. Or beaches for that matter.

Glenn Hughes made me gay. :) I saw the Village People on The Love Boat and that was that! My parents were...concerned...but to their credit, they didn't change the channel!
