One would think it would be cheaper to transport aid through the allied country that the US is propping up and supplying military, financial and political aid but alas, that's a bridge too far..

Definitely. Populism and conspiracy is one hell of a mixture .. we can only look at the former "public square" and the fact that the owner loves to elevate these voices and thoughts, giving creedence and respectability to them.

Also conspiracy theorists have massive 'mainstream' reach. Television hosts and even country leaders of repeat /propagate these things . So less theories but bigger platform
