THE LIFE OF CHUCK. A slow cooking balm for the soul. Just a perfectly poignant, elegantly uplifting, and wonderfully wrought work. #thelifeofchuck

Thrilled to get a copy of this screen-printed revival of the classic THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT from @codacurates.com and Posteritati. Admirable work to celebrate these comedy gems from Ealing studios.

#LiloandStitch keeps the charm and fun of the original and adds an expanded focus on family that gives it a modern and relatable angle. Probably the best live action Disney adaptation yet.

Sat for #SINNERS on this big ole Imax screen

THE SURFER. Nic Cage captivates as a man who unravels as he sees a long sought dream slipping from his grasp. A sun-kissed, fever-dream that channels the wild spirit, beauty, and danger of Australia onto the big screen. #SXSW

THE HOME explores the ravages of old age through the manifestation of a malevolent spirit in a woman sent to an old folks home. Unspoken truths, psychological manipulation, and physical abuse make for an unsettling and impactful slice of Swedish horror. #SXSW

THE SURRENDER. The past and present of a mother/daughter relationship explored as they attempt to resurrect the family patriarch. One of those rare instances where both the emotions involved and depictions of the occult feel truly authentic. An indelible and potent work. #SXSW

AMERICAN SWEATSHOP. A thriller that uses content moderation as a window into the dark landscape that is the internet, and the human condition. Compelling at times, and Lili Reinhart captivates, but overall feels all too superficial and neat to really do the topic justice. #SXSW
March 11, 2025 at 1:00 AM
SLANTED. Wrestles with the immigrant experience and serves an effective warning about the loss of color in our culture. It is undercut by a transition halfway through as well as some tonal lurches. The ambition and impact is impressive though. #SXSW
March 10, 2025 at 10:24 PM
FUCK TOYS. A hazy journey through a sleazy sub-world that feels like a throwback to a bygone punk era of filmmaking. Annapurna Sriram is one to watch, a beguiling talent whether in front of or behind the camera. #SXSW
March 10, 2025 at 4:25 AM
#FRIENDSHIP is the most chaotic comedy you’ll see this year. Just an impeccably shot, paced, and built film, where the charms of Rudd and off-kilter, madcap work of Robinson leaves you nervously cackling from start to finish. #SXSW

ARREST THE MIDWIFE. Another doc. damning the state of for-profit healthcare in the US.

Champions the importance to a community that the female touch brings, through meeting warm (and weary) women who practice the craft of midwifery in the face of legal adversity. #SXSW
