Because Lesotho’s citizens are too poor to afford most U.S. exports, while the U.S. imports $237 million in diamonds and other goods from the small landlocked nation, we have reserved close to our highest-possible tariff rate for one of the world’s poorest countries. The notion that taxing Lesotho gemstones is necessary for the U.S. to add steel jobs in Ohio is so absurd that I briefly lost consciousness in the middle of writing this sentence.

It would help if you learned what an arraignment is. It’s the government fulfilling its 6th amendment obligation to inform the accused of the charges. Unless the judge talks the defendant into a guilty plea, it’s impossible for the judge to prejudice the case.

Did the defendant plead guilty?

There’s roughly 3.5 million miles of waterway in the US, so 7 million linear miles of riparian estate… all of it is much more valuable that it would be without the Clean Water Act.

Don't get me wrong, it's Weird Al, so I'm not mad about this specific post, but why are "Discover" posts ending up in my "Following" feed? That seems like I'm not in control of the algorithm.
A post from Weird Al. At the top are the words "From Discover." Above that you can see that I'm in my "Following" feed. The post includes a photo of Weird Al playing a charity baseball event. He's at bat and squatting so that his shoulders are roughly 6 inches above his knees, making the strike zone very small. I'm impressed by his flexibility. The text of the post is, "Thanks to all the great folks at Big Slick KC for an amazing weekend, and congratulations on raising another $3.9 million for Children's Mercy hospital in Kansas City!"
