They could U turn but I dont think there are enough voters that would get behind Labour. The voters that elected Starmer are now splintered across all the parties & would all have to vote for the same party to beat Reform.

Going to be a lot of unhappy people when they see their payslips when the changes take place.A lot of people dont pay attention until that moment.
November 16, 2025 at 11:34 AM
That is ultimately what will happen because of the lack of promised growth & it could end this Labour government early if the cuts are forced on Labour.Their MPs will not vote for them & then a crisis follows because Labour MPs have to vote for cuts or allow Reform to be elected & implement cuts.

Starmer & Reeves plan to get Farage & Reform elected is going well this week.
November 14, 2025 at 2:18 PM
A lot of people dont take an interest in politics until the amount on their payslip suddenly goes down. They won't care how government decided to do it.They will just know they will have less money to spend.
November 14, 2025 at 11:51 AM
Not surprising when Lisa Nandy was saying the same earlier today on Times Radio.
November 14, 2025 at 8:23 AM
This long lead up to the budget with various leaks creates so much uncertainty for business. We have never had so many customers holding off on decisions.
I cannot see how Starmer is PM after May elections.
November 14, 2025 at 8:21 AM
Who is that person?Burnham,Khan & DMiliband left the field.
November 13, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Same policies within the current financial position and you get a similar outcome with a different face on it.
November 13, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Do you think they could be a bit more radical on rejoining the EU or did the Jo Swinson election burn them to badly?
November 12, 2025 at 12:57 PM
I suppose the party itself & policies are probably to middle class to ever have a wider appeal. So they might increase their seats and be part of a coalition but never gain power.
November 12, 2025 at 12:55 PM
It looks like a psychological battle between team mates this year.Piastri was stronger at the start of the year but they both look like different drivers now.
November 12, 2025 at 12:47 PM
Why do you think Davey & the Libdems are not more popular?
I would have thought at least half the people who voted Lab at the last election would move to the Libdems in polls.
November 12, 2025 at 12:38 PM
That could be the early downfall of the current government.New tax rises fail to bring in enough revenue & harm the economy.Labour back benchers will not vote for cuts. The bond market rules when borrowing is so high.
November 12, 2025 at 7:41 AM
If the BBC had been doing that there would not be a problem. There is a serious lack of accountability that cannot be tackled. From Saville,Hugh Edwards etc & now this deliberate manipulation of Trumps speech to make Trump look worse.
Self defeating & will mean the BBC will likely go easier on Reform.
November 11, 2025 at 6:09 PM
The problem with the BBC is it as mandatory to pay the tv licence & their failed attempts to appeal to everyone are driving away people.
If the BBC was a commercial broadcaster they would be held to account by their customers.
November 11, 2025 at 6:03 PM
So what is wrong with truthful reporting from ITV,Sky,Times Radio,LBC etc.?
November 11, 2025 at 5:40 PM
That free model relied on advertising. If you hand out 10,000 copies that is quite a few eyeballs.

I believe NYT,The Times & Telegraph pay walls work and are profitable.Guardian also doing ok via its donation scheme.
November 11, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Interesting. They are so similar yet I cannot imagine Corbyn himself joining The Green Party. That would be a journey for the Libdems. From Cleggs coalition days to some sort of agreement with the Greens.
November 11, 2025 at 1:30 PM
When a"natural supporter" of the BBC is being openly critical then that should tell you something.
The BBC is losing viewers & listeners because people want their news with a bias.Byline Times,Novara,X,BSky& TikTok etc.has content that suits people's perspective.BBC just pretends to be unbiased.

I have not seen any lengthy in depth interviews with Polanski.
What are the main differences between Polanski & Corbyn?
My perspective is their ideology is broadly similar.
November 11, 2025 at 12:40 PM
That is why Polanski & Green Party will never be taken seriously. They fulfil a function as a party of protest but a world without war & poverty. It is desirable but not in any way realistic.
November 11, 2025 at 10:39 AM
You either recognise the amount of immigration is a problem for a lot of voters & address it or you ignore it like Labour & the Tories have & destroy your own party.
Polanski is with the establishment on immigration.Unlike them he doesnt talk tough he is honest about wanting open borders.
November 11, 2025 at 8:56 AM
Other than Andrew Neil these presenters are all centrists left or right depending on your own perspective. They defend the establishment position.
