Of all the #5DebutAlbums7074 candidates, I’m most excited to revisit Fairfield Parlour - a nom-de-plume of psychedelic national treasure, Kaleidoscope. This is a big contender for points.

It's pretty routine for me to forget something obvious or add something ineligible, but here's my first draft shortist for #5DebutAlbums7074.

I’ve waited yonks for this to get a repress so delighted to see the day has (almost) come. Earlier copies go for daft money. #Parp

Next up for #5DebutAlbums1014.
Blurring the lines between Lush & The Primitives, The History of Apple Pie’s debut is a sunshine blur of fuzzy power pop.
The band boasted future-electro superstar Kelly Lee Owens on bass.

In with a shout of being my goat* for #5DebutAlbums1014. World Music is a glorious, infectious psychedelic stomp raking in influences far and wide.

*some magical word play, right there.

Ordered myself a copy of this. Cracking scuzzy, brooding psych. #NowPlaying

#NowPlaying First spin of a new arrival from earlier this week. Some lovely, fuzzy psych with plenty of krautrock references.

A serious contender here and a firm challenger for my #5DebutAlbums1014 top spot.

The Waves blew me away on release and remains embedded as a firm favourite, fusing ethereal shoegaze with neo-gothic dream pop. Or something.

Flirting provocatively with my top 5 for #5DebutAlbums1014

I haven’t played this for way too long. A heavenly dive into synth drenched dream pop.

I'll be honest. I hadn't banked on a shortlist of 57... #5DebutAlbums1014
Not checked my records yet either.

#NowPlaying I see this has just been issued on dinked vinyl... So pleased to nab a CD copy. I saw Hank in a support slot a couple of years back and kept looking out for physical merch. Flirting with shoegaze, grunge and 90s 4ad, they’re hugely promising.

Buying tapes seems a bit of a nonsense in 2025 but I couldn’t resist the Human Language rework of Goat’s last album. It’s an absolute smasher.

Nothing crushes the immersive experience of listening to an album more than having to get up and flip a double LP three bloody times.

Anyway, this will forever remain a banger, despite the lack of a CD option.
