Finally saw the Giza Pyramids from the air today - over the years it’s either been dark or the route was too far away. Bonus air to air picture of an Emirates A380 (Expo 2020 livery?) as we approached Alexandria. The A380 was at FL380 and we were at FL400

Northern Lights as we route towards the Arctic Circle flying back to London from Tokyo. These were seen over Alaska near Anchorage (-25degC) and Fairbanks (-35degC!)

Getting ready to go to Tokyo. 13 hours and 20 mins.

Spot the difference? These are the same make and model of engine (Rolls Royce Trent 1000) on pre-delivered aircraft. The cone is made from titanium and undergoes a change of colour to a striking blue after a few heat cycles.
