I find it a lot more difficult to vet accounts that follow me on BlueSky. On twitter, it’s pretty easy to spot the bad actors. Here, it just seems like there are too many accounts that are in the middle.

If you decide to make lists of “good guys” or “bad guys”, add people by what they say and do. Don’t create lists based on the fact that they follow one specific good guy or bad guy, because that doesn’t mean anything. I try to vet who I follow, but I might make a mistake.

I recommend going to the account @clearsky.app and invoking the page to see who is blocking you and any lists that you are on. I was surprised that some user I had never heard of decided I was dangerous and needed to be blocked. He’s wrong.

I have been looking at the new Wi-Fi standards. I last upgraded to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). My broadband rates 400 Mbps. I think that Wi-Fi 5 is probably good enough for me. The newer standards probably make a lot of sense for business users, particularly the corporate accounts.

My chemo regimen changed this year and I lost most of my hair on top in 6 weeks time. Chemo sucks, but it keeps me alive.

I have been using AI photo tools to upscale some photos I have acquired. A maximum dimension of 4096 seems to be common limit. AI seems to do better with faces. I don’t expect it to handle most outdoor landscape shots well.

I have changed my DM settings to allow messages from “no one”. I have already received msgs from accounts that I have followed back, and I had to block one account. I don’t really see the need for DMs on BlueSky, but if you need to send me a msg, you can reply to my post.

My follower count has gone up with a lot of people leaving Twitter. I appreciate the new followers. I still have more followers on threads, but it’s completely a different experience. BlueSky is definitely a better experience for politics and news.

I have multiple accounts on Twitter. You might know me by “JonLH”, “halfcentproject”, “jonlh_ep4”, or “Hall17JL” over there. I only have a single account on BlueSky. I do have multiple accounts on Mastodon.

This is a view of the Grand Canyon from the South Rim, taken on March 14, 2001. It is one of my earliest digital photos. I used AI to enhance the quality.

I have been going back to my earliest digital photos. The earliest ones were taken with a resolution of 640 by 480. I am thinking about using AI apps to increase the resolution of those old photos. Not sure if this is smart.

I consider myself a somewhat liberal. I have voted with the Democratic Party my whole life. I don’t have issues with true conservatives, but Trump supporters baffle me. No to fascists, white supremacists.
