Watched my latest arrival last night, Kevin Smith’s second outing, ‘Mallrats’. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed this movie and still laughed out loud a lot. Jason Lee’s “Brodie” is still one of my favorite characters of all time.

My internet has been out for the last 7 hours. That means no news, no TV, no Alexa, no smart bulbs…

I’ve had to turn my lights on and off all day using switches. Did you hear me?! SWITCHES! I feel like I’m in the Middle Ages.

I always wondered what my abs would be like if I didn’t have such a great sense of humor.

“I coulda been a contender.”

On The Waterfront. It’s an interesting movie. Specifically, Elia Kazan made this movie with a whistleblower as the hero after he testified and named names to the McCarthy commission. I enjoyed the movie, but it’s even more provocative when viewed through this lens.

Here’s some of the movies I’ve watched after starting my journey to see films I’ve always wanted to, but never have.

The Falcon & The Snowman. An interesting film about the limits of friendship. Sean Penn was fantastic in the role and overall I thought it was a great movie.

I’ve been compiling a list of films I’d never seen & wanted to and have been slowly going through it. I’ll be posting about those too.
And to be clear, I have no association with Videodrome other than just being a customer. I just like to support local business, & expand my knowledge of film!

Movies that are out of print, foreign films, stuff you just can’t find anywhere else. You can pick up a Blu-ray player super cheap and it’s a great way to explore a world of cinema and you may not know even existed.

Anyone still rent physical movies, like from a video store? I do! If you live in the Atlanta metro and are a fan of films, Videodrome is a place you need to visit. It’s filled with thousands of movies and an incredibly knowledgeable staff.

I cooked a 3 pound chuck roast in my sous vide for 48 hours, then seared it and ate it with some friends. It was delicious and by far my greatest cooking time to eating time ratio.

Someone should let the governor know that car accidents can impart very useful skills on the people involved in them.

My very first Bluesky… I don’t even know what it’s called:

I watched Oppenheimer and Threads in the same day.

I guess ‘full-circle’ would be the best way to describe. ‘Emotionally draining’ would be another.
