Yes thanks Ryan! A colleague of mine studies Permaculture so we sometimes discuss its relationship to Permacomputing.

A headwind we face of course is the enormous financial incentive to flow data through cloud servers so it can be sold to ad companies.

Thanks Reed. Unlike Mistral's recent findings, OpenAI's blog post didn't clarify the number of tokens assumed per query. That's like comparing the amount of gas required to pick up groceries without specifying whether the store is next-door or across town. Easily an order of magnitude difference.
