Yes, that's why I agreed with your second statement. I'll agree with the first if you'd update it to HR see people as a resource - and positive living creatures. I agree with the paradox. The behAviours described in the images weren't an effective way of navigating it.

Seeing people as resources works against that and most of us don't. Yes, we're often constrained by the people we work for, but most businesses are better, and the organisations are safer because we're there.

Direct is great, and that's what I mean. We're fundamentally in a business to play a role in running the business. And that requires taking, and helping others take a big picture view, as per your images.

Don't agree with the first paragraph (though, of course, poor HR exists too) but you're probably right on the second - we're not nursery workers
