I saw on livestream the final session of the CC match that relegated Durham, and Thompson got a huge ovation from the crowd. Why's he leaving - more money?

Oh yes, agree. Had him in my fantasy team last season. But he bowled a lot of lollipops to TJR that day in 2015, and also on that final day in 2016 (deliberately so, to enable Middx to declare and set up a run chase).

Big fan of Sidebottom in particular. I guess all the first four, except perhaps Willey, were getting on a bit. Shame about Fisher, and he seems to have just recovered from injury. Also Milnes - got immediately injured, fully supported by Yorks, made strong recovery, then chooses to return to Kent!

Well, that was partly meant as a tribute to Yorks. I think they only required full bowling bonus points to win the Championship, and got the first in the opening over by Sidebottom (Middx 0-3). By lunch they'd got the lot. But I think by day 3 they were just marking time / having a bit of fun.

The previous year, also last match of season, I saw Rojo get a whirlwind 💯 v Yorks. But admittedly Yorks had got the points needed to win the Championship on day 1, and had later celebrated long and hard. I recall Lyth being given a lengthy bowl at Rojo.
