Peach Crumble Cake today with my 5 yo's help.
First time using browned butter, and it's amazing how much of a difference it made in the flavor of the cake.

Sometimes I hate that I love clothes, because I'll see something cool and look online, accidentally find something different that looks AMAZING, and is over $400.

Like, I'm waiting till my birthday to justify a $45 shirt, how could I ever buy one 10X the price??

An ebay page of a 1918 US Army denim workshirt. It has three front buttons on a placket that goes halfway down the front, and two large patch pockets that also fit most of the front. A really cool looking overshirt from selvedge denim. It has the look of a shawl collar cardigan, with twin patch pockets at the front jear the waist.

Incredibly sad and upsetting that my School District has to send out something like this under the new administration, but I am incredibly grateful that they are supportive of each of their students.
The text of an email from my local school district, it reads: Dear Families and Students The U.S.Department of Homeland Security has issued new guidance stating that federal immigration officers may enforce immigration laws in and near sensitive areas, including schools. We understand that this may raise concerns for many in our community, and we want to assure you that we are fully aware of this policy change. So I got new dye and boiled water on the stove for a bucket process. Stirred for an hour, added a half bottle of dye fixative, and stirred for another hour.
Drained, rinsed clean, dried, and painstakingly sewed the collar back on over the week of Christmas. A lot of work, but I'm very happy with it

Process. Removed the collar and tried my usual dye process of RIT and a washing machine, but the machine at our place does not have a way for me to extend the cycle so it ended up barely dyed and splotchy.

Dyed it Green. The first try was a failure, so I had to remove all dye and try again. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Turkey is Brineing, and I'm finishing up preparing the last pumpkins of Autumn for winter soups.

The Hilda series is short, but very cute and fun. Plus they made it into a great Netflix series.
We also just picked up Narwhal: Unicorn Of The Sea, and One Smart Cookie at the library. Both are funny, cute, and part of larger series.

Question for you Bluesky,
I picked up this faded jacket, and want to dye it. I can go Dark green, or Black from what I have available. Green I'd want to remove and reapply the courderoy collar after, but that isn't a big deterrant for me.
What do you think? Green or black?
