This is Colley's Mill. Do you know who lives here? #spreadthelard

A friend's uncle was a Polish pilot who joined the RAF. His many exploits included taking down 6 V1s but he was killed in an accident early in 1945. I made my friend a model of his aircraft - custom decals, etc - but this happened and now I have to start again. Army Painter, you know what you did!

What you say is sooth!

Now, how how on earth could both of these turned up at the same time? Complete mystery. #spreadthelard

I'm still on the Cold War tangent and knocked out these Canadian vehicles to support the tanks I did last week. For Battlefront: Northag or the #IABSM variant. #spreadthelard

It's my own fault: I keep reading the excellent posts by @tomjmegan.bsky.social and, lo and behold, this arrived in today's post. I thought I should grab it quick in case it goes the way of NORTHAG which I've had for years but never tried.

I saw this just the other day in the supermarket car park at Goldens Bridge, New York. I couldn't help but take a picture. The driver didn't come out - probably scared of the British nutter taking pictures of his car.

Preparations for #CoC2. Mostly heavy recce from Jeff Trnka at Die Waffenkammer up in Canada. Lovely models. Also an Empress airborne jeep and a Company B cut-down Morris 15CWT. #spreadthelard

Mine is definitely out of hand. These are my British line and virtualy all the primed figures in the second picture are just my AWI queue - not all the figures I have for this project.

My AWI project is getting a little out of hand - contrary to appearances, I really do have enough to do with my time. A headswap to make a Highland grenadier piper and a grenadier sergeant transferred to the Light Infantry. #Spreadthelard

Completely agree on expanded PVC - finding the mdf I had set aside for this project had warped yesterday, I started again with PVC. So much easier, I have to say. AWI tavern from www.charliefoxtrotmodels.com and fences from Renedra. Single building for #sharppractice or BUA for #BritishGrenadier.

Knocked out three Pennsylvania battalions for the AWI this weekend. Very much speed painting so don't look too hard - they'll be fine once they're based. Will work for #SharpPractice or #BritishGrenadier. #spreadthelard

I might use browner tufts for some things but otherwise it all gets - (i) polyfilla/spackle; (ii) oil wash; (ii) railways ballast (large for 28mm, small for 15mm); (iv) static grass (my own mix that I kid myself adds something); and (v) tufts. Wins no prizes but it works for me.

What an absolutely fantastic looking game! Though the church looks oddly familiar. I wonder how many of us built that from Gary Chalk's plans in WI.

Ready for all sorts of derring-do, the whole platoon. Plus a couple of Vickers; extra Lewis guns for different platoon structures; and a few characters. #spreadthelard

Finished my Copplestone rifle-bomber section for #TTMB and #chainofcommand. Judicicious application of the tube from a Q-tip, plastic small packs and green stuff satchels. #spreadthelard

On Tuesday, I'm off to see Dame @wmarybeard.bsky.social give a lecture at NYU - which is just a few blocks from my office. I'm really looking forward to it although the mate I was supposed to be going with, the silly arse, contrived to book to watch on Zoom.

Despite not providing any British bombers, the range does include some very nice Vickers and Lewis guns. More chaps to serve with the "Bull" Allenby, in Mespot or various places in the back of beyond. #spreadthelard

The Copplestone Back of Beyond range is fantastic but it lacks some suitable figures to do a proper platoon. After many years of thinking about it, I've finally made some bombers and rifle-bombers. Not exactly works of art but they'll paint up OK. #spreadthelard

How on earth could that have happened? Shocked - shocked I tell you - to have three #Midgard units of Germanic cavalry turn up out of the blue! Hoping the snow on Sunday doesn't prevent me sticking these lads togther. #spreadthelard

Cheers, yes, the Colonial Marines and my American SP force are all Brigade. I have some of their matelots and Royal Marine heads to use on Perry plastic too. Other figures waiting to be painted include Perry Royal Marines and sailors, and quite a few Empress sailors from their Maori Wars range.

Started on Black Redcoats by @blackredcoats.bsky.social this weekend. HM Corps of Colonial Marines in the War of 1812 (or Anglo-America War as Mr. Taylor calls it). Excellent so far and an SP scenario in just the first few pages. Recommended, I even started painting. #spreadthelard

A big box of laser-cut mdf has arrived from Dunfermline. Usual great service from @warbases.bsky.social . #Midgard Stage 2 can begin. I ask that the sabots not be glued - I replace the bottom layer with thin plasticard. The bottoms will be used for movement bases for "awkward" units.
