No wonder they're leading the division.

Spare a thought for the people in the Red Sox ticket office this morning, who two weeks ago were already in the "two free hot dogs with every ticket purchase" portion of their Rolodex.

Welcome to the new generation about to learn that "Sturm Face" was a meme before we really called them that.

Much like I just learned searching that yields a different German's line of anti-aging creams.

I would be a lot more negative on these if the Red Sox hadn't gone so far off the page with the Marathon City Connects. That was a gamble. (And it worked, no arguments allowed.) This is exactly what you would have expected they'd do with the assignment.

They're fine. Which is fine.

All that said, the atmosphere is outstanding, and all the extraneous stuff feels like it'll only get better. There was plenty of needling the Revolution about it being "New England's ONLY SOCCER-SPECIFIC STADIUM," but RIFC's Defiance 1636 showed why that matters. They're great.

You should go. (3/3)

It was night three, so I'm not going to judge the place in permanent marker, and once you're in the seats, it feels roomy. Outside and on the concourses, though, the announced 9,500 (capacity: 10,500) felt like a lot. Food/merch lines were prohibitively long. (2/3)

Thread of one idiot's thoughts on the new Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket: It's fine.

On the high end of "fine" and absolutely everything it needs to be, but as with the similarly eye-watering expensive Polar Park, I can both like it and think, "This is it?" (1/3)

It would seem to me, pedant that I am, that something called the "96 Collection" should feature the logo from, you know, '96. The crayon logo. The one you can't much get anymore.

(This is at least partially due to not liking the new badge all that much, but the pedantry is, as always, the key.)

I've said a lot of mean things about the "Bruins Night" abominations the Red Sox plan to give out for tonight's game, which in a nice thematic twist will feel like it's being played in your freezer.

I don't want to pile on, though, so I'll point out the Revolution's "96 Collection" also stinks.

The Red Sox traded Quinn Priester this morning, and also put that abomination crossover hockey jersey thing in my email.

One of these things should be a crime, and I leave it to you to figure out which one I'm referring to.

Say what you will about the promotion, but this is an elite Jersey Foul. Ugly ain't even the word. @wyshynski.bsky.social

NESN keenly aware that Martin Luther King Jr. studied at Boston University, and thus would have been a huge Macklin Celebrini guy.

I guess.

Update: Terriers figured it out.

Two-win Harvard is leading the third period of the Women's Beanpot opener at ancient Matthews Arena, which is not a scenario I foresaw when I left my house.

Schneider is nicer than I remember, but I genuinely think like 80 percent of that is just because they painted it.

I am going on record and telling you this was not bad.

Find something more Everett. You can't do it.

Looking through the catalog of items in Larry Lucchino's auction on Saturday, there is a ton of cool stuff as expected.

There's also this cursed monstrosity, whose existence might explain why the gods scorned the Red Sox so hard in 2011.

Am being told there won't be Chuck A Puck at the end of the period. Frankly, I'm disappointed.
