I genuinely cannot believe there was 3 minutes of stoppage. Martinelli needs to come on for Trossard to stretch their defence and Havertz should come on for Merino and give Onana more to think about.

We bought arguably the best number 6 in Europe Zubemendi and now we have Havertz back. Our back 4 should be back to normalish. If the back room staff thought a niggle could prevent Rice from getting something worse I’m prepared to be ok with him sitting out this game.

It’s a niggle imo. Not risking longer term thing’s particularly for an intense January.

Great point. Even a slight niggle is being taken seriously which is great. We didn’t do that last season.

@arsenalvisionpodcast.com none of you commented on when Gyokores got cut down by the keeper who should have been given a red. He was literally doing the run you said he doesn’t do enough of. That’s his meat and drink.

My opinion on this subject is that I believe there has been zero nuance in this discussion. Elliot for one reducing certain players to the lowest common denominator is my biggest bug bear. The irony being as well that Gykores has the most goals in the team.

He’s played a total of 16 games. Havertz took three quarters of a season to be remotely effective. The same patience hasn’t been given to Gyokores to gain any meaningful connections. That’s what I’m saying. There is literally just one player, Trossard, who’s given him any decent chances.

A disappointing discussion on Victor Gyokores. Havertz got continually given the grace on the pod and elsewhere that he would come through the long period difficult moment he had at the start, which took far longer , yet Gyokores hasn’t come from another PL like Havertz and is shit on. Do better.

Feel yours and James’ analysis on Gykores is harsh. I seem to remember you being far more understanding to Havertz when he came from Chelsea and the far longer time it took him to click into gear plus he had prior PL experience.

I’m curious why we were quite happy to give Havertz a grace period that was far longer than Gyokores is experiencing now? And Havertz had a lot of PL experience prior to joining us.
