A Geordie, long suffering Newcastle United fan. Labour Party member, leftie Guardian reader I guess. Gay, with a husband, a son and a cockapoo.
If only our team orbits around him because so far this season they haven’t been. The number of headers he has scored shows that, the team just doesn’t seem to include him in the play enough. Hope this changes soon.

It’s all media talk, click bait.

it would be extremely expensive (obvs not £1billion tho) and they’d not get their return back with an extra 5-7k extra seats for decades. Even when extension was talked it didn’t even have boxes in it so don’t think that would be a goer either. We already have 52k so not exactly tiny anyway.

My thoughts are they won’t spend £1billion on a new stadium until we’re regularly in Europe and pushing for a PL title. I don’t think we’re any where near that level. Imagine signing a cheque for £1billion for a 70k seated stadium and you get relegated? I’d also be surprised they extend Gallowgate

And you know what in hindsight I’d have sold Gordon to Liverpool that summer and kept Anderson and Minteh - I know no one had a crystal ball, but looking back….. Gordon never been the same when the rumour started we looked to selling him and heart doesn’t seem in it

I know last two the jury is out, but Wissa was panick buy at £60m and then getting injured really he was a mistake really, the whole reason was he immediately played when Isak left. It’ll be nearly Jan transfer before he plays properly (assume he doesn’t go to Afcon)
November 16, 2025 at 1:59 PM
I’d question Matt Target, Chris Wood (clearly couldn’t play under EH coaching), Harrison Ashby (admittedly only cost £3m), Harvey Barnes (controversial I know but for £40m!), Osula, Lloyd Kelly (I know he was free and we made £ but he was 💩), Elanga (early days I no), Wissa (old and hasn’t played)

Since PIF took over we’ve spent £730m on 27 players. Net isn’t relative to this post is it, because I am saying we’re 9th in a 2025 PL table and it the cost of those players and their skills that got us to that position that is relevant not the net spend.
November 16, 2025 at 1:51 PM
All table positioning of any team has some context surrounding it. Ours in 2025 ain’t great, we should, after spending £800m not depend on Isak leaving, or Tino/ Lewis getting injured make such an impact, but here we are. Maybe poor recruitment seeing as there has been such flux behind the scenes

Rumours that we’re buying them? Can we buy all of them? I’d keep Tonali, Bruno, Livramento and Hall, rest we can ship out and replace 🤣
November 11, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Guess we will never know, but something is seriously wrong in the team currently. There was signs of it end of last season, last few games we didn’t look interested. I sometimes thinks Isak action may have been a realisation we ain’t gonna be the new Man City any time soon- ‘project drifting’

I am not sure the mechanics are in place in the board room to move on to phase two.
November 9, 2025 at 9:20 PM
In the PL? People are too nostalgic , he won us a cup, he’d therefore be to me the best manager we have had, but all things come to an end.
November 9, 2025 at 8:02 PM
I find the blind loyalty to EH almost like a cult. We’re only ever as good as the season we’re playing in. This season we’ve played utterly rubbish, apart from Wolves I don’t think many are as bad. CL has made it feel we’re doing ok- but Union is tiny club and wud Benfica or athletic really cut it
November 9, 2025 at 8:02 PM
or don’t win those home games then you may be right and he could be gone by Xmas. However, PIF are slow in acting, as we’ve seen in the boardroom, so who would they bring in that quick?
November 9, 2025 at 7:54 PM
I agree. The next games - Man City and then Everton away will result in zero points. The next two home games, Spurs and Burnley could save him time if we win (but not guaranteed) but then we are down the A19 in SoL and I expect to get absolutely smashed. If it’s really bad down there
November 9, 2025 at 7:54 PM
team I don’t expect any points (we always seem poor after internationals anyway). The next two home games (spurs and Burnley) could save him time if we win (which isn’t guaranteed) cos then we have the Mackems- get thumped down there which is a real possibility and IMO time will be running out.
November 9, 2025 at 7:40 PM
winning in CL we still looked uninterested and poor and then again the players don’t look arsed- this all with poor game management by EH we really are in the shit here. I think he has till the New Year, but things will get worse- we have Man City next, then Everton away- will confidence low in the

something for us (he sits just above Keegan and Robson) but each manager at every club comes to an end and I am doubting whether he has it in him to turn this around. After the shit show that was WH I expected the team to respond as they did last year after the Brentford game, but despite

I think more than 5% are questioning Howe right now, his loyalty to his favourite players and his poor game management will be his downfall. You are too nostalgic, we are only as good as the current season, and we’re gash looking down into an abyss. EH will to me be our best manager as he won
November 9, 2025 at 7:40 PM
We’re already in a relegation battle. We’re two points off third bottom. We won’t get any points off Man City or Everton away, so after that likely in bottom three by then
November 9, 2025 at 6:22 PM
You’re being to nostalgic. You’re only as good as the current season. Howe would go down as our best manager in my lifetime (with Keegan and Robson just after him) but everything comes to an end. He seems out of ideas and players don’t seem interested. No idea who replace him with though!
