Never let the LLM that writes the code write the unit tests. It will be tempted to write hard-coded functions that pass the unit tests. Separation of concerns is even more important with AI Agents than people, since they are less honest!

Picaresque by The Decemberists is the most filmic album ever made and it’s not even close. Almost every song would make a decent movie.

Spent an hour vibe coding with my kids + niece. Each built a clone of a 2D videogame (tetris, space invaders, plants v zombies), using cursor(for coding) + chatGPT(for planning) + docker(for isolating library installations). Add git == a full stack for kids to build whatever software they want.

You gotta be all in on (globally diversified) equities and it isn’t even about being aggressive. Look at the actual inflation we’ve seen in the last ten years. How much does the house you want to buy cost now? How much does a nice dinner cost? That 4.5% bond yield isn’t even treading water.

To travel in Japan is to experience ego death. You are a rube, a moron, an r-slur. Everyone is terribly nice but there’s no getting around the fact that you are illiterate, nonverbal, and have no idea how to behave. Highly recommend.

A business that's starting up a "club like" or "cool" third space or membership org is often a scam. This was true for Anna Delvay, Billy McFarland, and Adam Neumann. There's something about those kinds of businesses that attracts that kind of person. Keeping my eye on $SHCO.
