The Association of American Universities and other groups looking to block NSF's 15% indirect cost cap just filed for a preliminary injunction. NSF is the third federal agency to try to cap research overhead payments. DOE and NIH are the other two (those efforts have been tied up in the courts).

As expected, the Trump administration is filing an appeal over the permanent injunction in the indirect cost case. Filed today.

NIH has cancelled its Summer Internship Program (SIP) this year. SIP usually hosts more than 1,000 students, and interns who had already been accepted will not be able to participate.

I've had a few people reach out to me to say they've heard NIH has terminated MOSAIC, an award for postdocs from diverse background looking to start faculty careers. On the left is what an NIH web page on the program looked like on Sunday. On the right, that same page yesterday.
