The UofI will continue to spend huge amounts of money in fighting the protections for academics in their classrooms. It is not simply wasting public funds, but spending public funds against the public interest.

This is the scene outside of the World Forum. The speakers were calling for the release of Khalil and the end of the war in Gaza. Notably, there were more police than protesters.

At two dinners used historically to build bridges with presidents, the media decided to use the events as a way of slapping back at Trump like hurt school children. The media has far more to lose in engaging in tit-for-tat insults.

The response of the Administration should be to seek an expedited appeal. The district court cannot drag out a TRO very long before issuing an order that can be appealed. The GOP should avoid the impeachment craze that consumed Democratic members.

If we truly want to honor the legacy of St. Patrick, we can start by honoring free speech. We need to chase the censors from Ireland.

...Putting aside the Khalil case and the question of his conduct, LPRs are protected by the Constitution in the exercise of free speech. The cause cannot be protesting in favor of Palestine, but conduct in coordination or furtherance of a terrorist group like Hamas.

There was a time when such intolerance was directed against the left and groups ranging from feminists to those in the LGBT community. Now, it has become a badge of honor, the expected bona fides that show the correctness and firmness of one’s views.
