If you missed it, here’s the interim Principal talking about substantial future job cuts at University of Dundee.

He refers to the number of job losses recommended in the recovery plan. This is 390FTE with 340FTE via redundancies.

We believe redundancies are not necessary. #SaveHE #SaveDundeeUni

The University Recovery Plan submitted by Court and UEG can now be shared. The campus unions are hosting a joint Townhall event to share the plan, so everyone can make their own judgements on what was proposed, including the number of redundancies.

Join us this Thursday 12:30 in LT3 Dalhousie.

NO REDUNDANCIES at the University of Dundee.

Fantastic news in our fight to save jobs, as interim Principal Prof Nigel Seaton confirms that there will be no redundancies. A massive victory for everyone who has supported us.

Looking forward to receiving the removal of Section 188 in writing.

Staff and students are not responsible for the financial crisis. It is executive leaders and Court, who has failed us.

Staff and students should not suffer, as we continue to work together to support the region and deliver massive social and economic benefits.

In light of the catastrophic failings of governance and financial management at the University of Dundee, we continue our fight to save jobs.

We’re asking for a commitment to no compulsory redundancies and the removal of the currently active Section 188.

We are extremely concerned by the letter from Ernst and Young, auditors at the University of Dundee.

The letter suggests that executives submitted inaccurate responses during the auditing process.

Our wonderful colleague Usha explains how the current financial crisis and proposed 632 FTE job cuts is affecting her right now. Many colleagues feel the same way.

The "recovery plan" needs to be scrapped. It's had a devastating effect on staff and students.

They still don’t know what went wrong at the University of Dundee.

“Crass and inappropriate”

Shane O’Neill agrees that including the number of proposed job cuts in the password for the “recovery plan” was wrong.

But as he says here, this was not the 1st time he heard. He had learnt about it at uni meeting with witnesses.

Today, Shane O’Neill, our interim Principal announced the University of Dundee needs to cut 632 jobs to be financially sustainable.

Also there are 237 vacancies (in part due to the recruitment freeze since Nov).

That’s 870 colleagues from 3200. OVER A QUARTER!
