I hope she wins. We need her or the next candidate up with a shot to win. We need every last Democratic candidate to be the best they can be. And then, regardless whether or not we’re completely happy with a candidate, we must turn out. No purity tests. In any race. Winning back power is everything.

But it’s no big deal if we say it. It probably hurt her that she said it. We must learn from our mistakes.

Before we decide who can win in TN 07, we have to look at the data. Who did Aftyn get to the polls? Were there demographics that Aftyn didn’t appeal to? Which groups that didn’t show up this year might we get to turn out next year. Let’s support a candidate who ticks as many boxes as possible.

What I’m saying is I will gladly compromise on some of my more moderate views and embrace progressive stances if it will help us win. No purity tests. We must ALL commit to backing any D or I in a two-person race against a MAGA candidate. No one gets to stay home. Neither moderates nor progressives.

First and foremost, I care about beating Trump and MAGA, in Tennessee and/or any other state or district we can reasonably win. We have to remove Trump. You have to stop the bleeding before you can stabilize the patient. Then we can start fixing what the GOP has ruined.
