Let that sink in... the fact that he showed up for a legal immigration hearing and is following the law is an opportunity to keep him off of our streets. WHAT?

Chicago is next on Trump's target list... Chicago isn't even in the top 10 most violent cities with most of the top violent cities in Republican run states. Memphis, St. Louis, Little Rock, Birmingham, Kansas City, and Cleveland all consistently rank in the top 10.

There is video of Kerr County officials ranting about rejecting this funding from Biden while making the crazy claims that it was some communist plot to control the county. It is truly bizarre to watch if you can find it. I'll take a look as I saw it last week.

The Texas Tribune highlights all of this spending on the police if you'd like to see the source. It's in a series of articles.

Instead they rerouted the money and allocated it to the sheriffs department. They spent $7 to upgrade the comms systems that only cost $5 million and they gave a million to a retired deputy to oversee the upgrade. The rest went into a discretionary fund where they spent $250,000 on armoured vehicle.

Was recently thinking about our dialogue from a while ago as the flood waters receded in Texas and hundreds are dead. Did you know Kerr County where the flood occurred was given $10 Million by Biden to update their flood warning systems, but they rejected the money and called it a communist agenda.

Sadly, as of late I have found myself looking away from these horrendous videos, BUT thank you for the reminder. This will not end and it will get worse. #DontLookAway

NYT could do much better, but they are making a conscious decision to not share all the facts. The police officer who first claimed Garcia was a gang member is banned from testify in court because of his corrupt actions.

News Analysis: In the case of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, the Trump administration appears primarily concerned with ensuring that a man it has described as a “dangerous illegal alien” never walks free on U.S. soil.
Justice Dept. Promised to Prosecute Abrego Garcia. Now It’s Not So Clear.

Fixed it. In the case of Kilmar Armando Garcia, the Trump administration appears primarily concerned with ensuring that a man it has described as a dangerous illegal alien without any facts and the actions of a corrupt suspended police officer who is banned from testify never walks free on US soil.

NPR should probably have started with, "The preservative has been absent from the majority of flu vaccines for nearly two decades."

Or the fact that JFK Jr and has band of anti-vaxers are solving problems that don't exist as NPR notes muah later in the article.

Media is running to the right out of fear.

CNN... fear of poor ratings and dropping profits. NPR... fear of getting banned. CBS... fear of blockage of business mergers. Pollsters... fear of lawsuits. ABC... just fear.

Welcome to fascism.

Chinese solar prices have dropped through the floor in recent years and the Republicans are making the US less competitive on the global market. Why? Do they hate the US that much?

Smaller cities (under 100,000 residents)... up to or over 40%
Source: Also Urban Institute, supported by case studies and budget reports from cities like Stockton, CA; Vallejo, CA; and Rockford, IL — all of which show police taking 35–45% of general fund budgets.
June 29, 2025 at 5:13 PM
According to a 2021 analysis the Urban Institute analyzed budget data from a broad range of U.S. cities, categorized by population size. Medium-sized cities (100,000–500,000) were consistently around 25–35% police share of general funds.
June 29, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Really? According to the Urban Institute police spending often accounts for 20–45% of general fund expenditures...

The data shows that in cities under 100,000 residents, general fund spending on police can range from 20% up to 45% or more.

The current numbers were already obscene. Imagine if we educated our population instead of policing and incarcerating citizens? Freedom my ass.
June 29, 2025 at 2:31 PM
The United States is already a police state. Small and medium sized communities all over the United States spend half their budgets on law enforcement. It's tragic.
